On the main Disk Drill screen, you will see a list of all the available disks and partitions. Here is an explanation for some of the symbols you might see.

Information Button (i)

The small “i” in a circle under the name is the Information button. You can click on this to get detailed information about each disk, including the type of file system, capacity of the volume, whether data protection is enabled, and S.M.A.R.T. details. The color of the information button indicates the S.M.A.R.T. status of the volume:

  • Green means that S.M.A.R.T. status is active and no problems are detected.
  • Red means S.M.A.R.T. is active and bad sectors or other S.M.A.R.T. issues have been detected.
  • Orange means S.M.A.R.T. Monitoring is not active for this volume.
